Industry Collaborations Showcased - The Sixth Sense, Advanced Sensor Technology
Deputy Principal (Research & Knowledge Transfer) Professor Alan Miller, Director of Research & Enterprise Gillian McFadzean, and Baker Hughes Technology Fellow, Dr Dan Georgi at the annual Industry Day.
Heriot-Watt's 2012 Industry Day proved to be a huge success, with representatives from academia, industry and research centres coming from across the UK and beyond to discuss the future of advanced sensor technology.
The event, held at the Edinburgh Conference Centre on the 9th February, showcased Heriot-Watt's ambitious commitment to collaborate with industry in research and knowledge transfer. By bringing together delegates and speakers from a range of sectors – which this year included biomedical, defence, geophysical and petroleum, amongst others – the event highlighted the huge success we have so far had in developing new technologies, creating spin-out companies and increasing the placement opportunities available to our students.
