On 23rd April 2018, the Energy Technology Partnership will be holding its second Energy Innovation Emporium at the University of Strathclyde.
Following the recent publication by the Scottish Government of the Energy Strategy, a vision is set of Scotland's energy sector supplying secure, reliable and affordable energy. This year's ETP event will engage fully with this and explore opportunities arising. We will bring together industry, the public sector and academia to work together in developing the innovation required to meet the challenging climate change ambitions.
Some key questions to be addressed centre on the decarbonisation of heat, the integration of EVs into the grid, the reality of Hydrogen as an energy vector, and implications of setting energy productivity as a target.
Seminar titles include: The Role of Wind in Meeting the Future Vision for Energy; Smart Local Energy Systems; Oil and Gas: the Future and Possible Diversification; Wave and tidal energy: the case for intervention; Infrastructure Policy; Backcasting the Scottish Energy Strategy, feedback and perspectives for energy utilisation in buildings & heat; Energy Conversion and Storage including Solar PV; Industry Needs Heat, can it be supplied low carbon?; and Bioenergy: Fit for 2050.
Over 240 delegates attended last year. This year, there will be nine seminars centred on key policy questions, facilitated by leading experts, where innovative minds will come together to focus on the grand challenges facing the energy sector.
Confirmed speakers are Philip New, CEO, Energy Systems Catapult, and Sonja Chirico Indrebø, VP Strategy and Innovation, Statoil ASA.
