Innovation in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Systems - Competition Briefing Events
Wed, 9 Aug, London | Thu, 17 Aug, Birmingham |
The electrification of transport is a cornerstone of the long-term policy to decarbonise transport in the UK with the Government Manifesto commitment that every new car and van to be zero emission by 2050. Vehicle-to-grid (V2G), or vehicle-to-building, is believed to be a valuable contributor to this, rewarding vehicle users for grid support at times of need or times of opportunity and engaging energy users in the energy system in new ways. The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are providing total funding of £20 million for innovative projects that develop future V2G products, services and knowledge. KTN is running briefing events aimed at innovators and researchers planning to submit applications into the Vehicle-to-Grid competition: London on Wed, 9 August; Webcast on Wed, 9 August; Birmingham on Thu, 17 August. UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £20 million to research technologies and business models that develop future Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) products and services To register for these events click here for London; or click here for Birmingham
