Making the transition to Low-Carbon Cities in Scotland

Scottish Renewables’ first ever Low-Carbon Cities Conference explores the many opportunities for Scotland’s cities to embrace the transition to a sustainable, clean, green economy; reducing energy costs and tackling fuel poverty, while attracting low-carbon investment and jobs, and building Scotland’s industries of the future.

This is your chance to hear from senior figures in government, industry and academia, and to set out your views, as we seek to shape the future of Scotland’s low-carbon cities.

Key issues to be covered include:

• A vision for low-carbon cities in Scotland;

• Lessons learned from the experience of recent case studies and good practice;

• Master-planning, future-proofing and 'low-regrets': how do we plan for future low-carbon infrastructure?

• The behavioural and cultural changes we need to adopt and drive forward;

• Renewable and low-carbon technologies that can be applied to the cityscape

The conference will examine:

• A vision for low-carbon cities: what are we aiming for and why?

• Inspiring change: where do we go from here?

• Master-planning and future-proofing: making the transitionl

• Integrating technologies and changing behaviour
