Science and Innovation Network Symposiums

Part of the work of the British Embassy in AbuDhabi is the organisation of Science Collaboration Symposia on subjects pertinent to the region.. The aim of these events is to unite UK researchers with their colleagues who work in research institutions in the Gulf to encourage the establishment of bilateral or trilateral research projects in specific fields.

At the moment  two regional events  are planned to promote collaboration between Gulf research institutions and their UK counterparts. One, on Agritech, Aquaculture and Food Safety, will take place in Oman at the beginning of March. The second, also in March, will focus on Waste Water Treatment and Reuse and will take place in Kuwait.

The Symposia are funded and delivered as part of the UK Government Gulf Science Innovation Knowledge Economy (GSIKE) Programme and is organised in collaboration by the UK Science & Innovation Network (SIN), the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the British Council.

The Symposium on Waste Water –Treatment and Reuse will take place at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), on 5-6 March 2018.

The Symposium on Agritch, Aquaculture and Food Safety that will take place in Oman, Muscat, also on 5-6 March 2018.

The deadline for applications in both cases is 19th January 2018. All other information is included in the application forms that can be downloaded below.
